Cancellation

In the event of cancellation here are our terms & conditions. Full payment will apply unless you can provide notification as follows:

1 or 2 rooms, 48 hours’ notice prior to 12 noon on the day or arrival is required,

3-5 rooms, 7 days’ notice prior to 12 noon on the day of arrival is required.

For reservations of 6-9 rooms or reservations with a value that exceeds £1,000, then 14 days’ notice prior to 12 noon on the day of arrival is required.

Reservations of 10 rooms or more will be subject to specific deposit and cancellation policies. These will be appropriate to the respective reservation and will be confirmed at time of booking.

Weddings, Events and certain Seasonal occasions will be subject to different deposit and cancellation terms. These will be confirmed at time of booking.

Our cancellation policy exists to protect our customers as well as the Hotel. We do not believe in ‘overselling’ our rooms. We therefore need to give ourselves a cancellation notification, that allows for a reasonable booking window.

If a guest hasn’t arrived by 8am the morning after your stay begins, or contacts us to confirm when they may arrive, the booking will be treated as cancelled. The guest will be liable for 100% of the value of the booking.
This will automatically be charged to the credit card provided at time of booking,

We strongly recommend that you take out your own Holiday insurance to cover you for cancellation

Cancellations should be made in writing via email.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GUEST TO OBTAIN A CANCELLATION NUMBER AS PROOF AS CANCELLATION.

Charges

The prices displayed on the website are a total for your requested stay. Any meals, service or VAT (at the current rate) are included only if specified. A minimum length of stay, deposit, cancellation charge and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified.

The VAT breakdown shown is indicative based on the current rate of VAT, and the expected VAT treatment of the goods or services. This may change depending on the actual tax point of the invoice, and the VAT treatment of the goods and services purchased at that date.

Price lists for additional items, such as Room Service, are on display at relevant locations within the Hotel. They are also available on request.

Booking

Guests may book in advance or on arrival subject to availability. The Company reserves the right to refuse any booking for good reason. Although payment is generally required on departure, there maybe occasions when the guests are required to prepay in full. Or provide a deposit at the time of booking, or on arrival at the hotel. Payment will be required at the point of booking where the check-in date is the same as the booking date.

Payment

You will be asked to provide a credit card (or debit card) at the time of the Booking to secure your reservation. Where a deposit or full payment is required in advance; by Booking you are authorising the debiting of the card provided.

We accept the following methods of payment: Cash, Credit Cards: MasterCard, Visa Debit Cards: Visa, Delta and Visa, Electron.
The Guest must pay all outstanding charges on departure from the Hotel.

Deposits

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable for both the Castle Hotel and Reform Restaurant.

All bookings for the Christmas Market period are 50% of the total booking taken at time of booking.

Damage

In the event of any damage caused at the hotel by a guest the Company reserves the right to charge for repair and cleaning. We can also charge for loss of earnings as a result of a room being unfit for use whilst repairs are undertaken. The Company also reserves the right to take a deposit against the damage while works are being carried out. If there is doubt of the damage being paid for by the guest.

Smoking

The Hotel is no-smoking throughout all area. Any guests smoking in Bedrooms will be charged for an additional nights stay, as the room cannot be let to another guest in that time. Any additional costs for dry cleaning or damage may be charged.

Car Parks

There is some car-parking available at the Hotel free of charge for room bookings.  The Castle Hotel & Reform Restaurant is not responsible for the security of any vehicles Parked on site.

During the Christmas Market period we are unable to offer Car parking to guests.

Service Charge

Tables of 6 or more that book within the Restaurant are liable for a 10% service charge for their table.
